Decorate for Spring

Spring just calls for bursts of bright color, energetic patterns, and lively springtime motifs in your home décor. But not exactly sure how to incorporate those items? Don’t worry, we’ve got some ideas for you!

Light and Fresh Ambiance

Want to create a casual living room that sings “spring?” Add brightly colored accessories like vases, patterned pillows or curtains. On a budget? Flea market steals can help you create your space with a fresh feel without spending a fortune.

Another easy way to add springtime to your home’s décor, is by incorporating a floral motif. Add flower-patterned throw pillows on your couches. Don’t be afraid of being old school or fuddy-duddy, use a graphic bold flower print to make an impact!

And lets not forget about patterns! Floral is a great pattern to use for spring time, but it’s not the only pattern. Paisley is also a great option; especially in light, airy colors like blues, greens, soft yellows and pinks. In addition to fabric, you can get these patterns going in art pieces and DIY custom art work, wall paper, and vases. And my all time favorite pattern, polka-dots! They are becoming a very big trend and are totally fun for home décor! Throwing some funky polka-dot items on your kitchen table for guests to eat will create a very energetic atmosphere.

Speaking of entertainment spaces, don’t forget a spring centerpiece to be the focus of your dinner table. Fruits and flowers are a great way to go; they combine various textures, patterns and color. Kumquats in a vase of water make a unique base for stems of yellow tulips or other spring flowers. Fill a tray with Granny Smith apples for a delectable coffee table accent.

Lively Bedroom Overhaul

Why not add that extra bounce to your step by adding spring to your bedroom? You can add punch to a headboard by wrapping it with a yard of mod floral fabric. Another idea would be to take old calendar pages (or new ones), cut them to size and frame them to adjourn your walls. Don’t forget window treatments. Sometimes the easiest and best way to change the look of a room is to swap out the window treatments. Go for something light and airy to reflect the new season!

An apartment renter’s best friend would be wall decals. They are a quick and simple update for any plain surface. They are the easiest way to add décor without changing very much, which allows you to swap out when the next season rolls around!
