Kid Friendly Halloween Recipes

Halloween is approaching fast and kids have 2 things on their minds… costumes and candy! Although it makes them happy, sugar isn’t the only thing they should eat on Halloween (or any day for that matter). Courtesy of ClubMum’s Laurin Evans, we hope you like this collection of kid friendly Halloween recipes that are not only spooky and delicious treats, but nutritious ones too!

Witch fingers:

Baby carrots dipped in ranch dip tinted black, green, red or orange with natural food coloring.

Ringworm roll-ups:

Microwave shredded Colby on a flour tortilla, roll up, cool and slice into half inch rounds.

Brains:

Place mashed potatoes in a jello brain mold.

Severed fingers:

Slice preservative-free hot dogs in two, then halve lengthwise so they don’t roll. Make little slices in the hot dog for the knuckle and cut out a depression in the tip for the fingernail. Use a nail-shaped piece of cheese or yellow bell pepper for the nail.

Dip Duos:

A bowl of guacamole is snot and a bowl of smushed-up cream cheese topped with pure fruit strawberry preserves is brains. You can stick some rubber eyeballs and spiders in any dip to give it some Halloween flair.

Intestines:

Spaghetti with tomato sauce. What could be easier? Of course they have to actually stop running around to eat it.

Another great tip Ms. Evans suggests if you don’t have really have time for the above, is to use your Halloween cookie cutters to make some mini PB&Js or ham sandwiches. How adorable! I think I’d actually like some of those in my lunch pail at work! 🙂
