Simple Solutions to COUNTERact Limited Kitchen Space

A kitchen is often thought of as the “hub,” or heart, of the home. However, preparing all of the family’s meals each day can be an organization nightmare that can discolor the kitchen. Storing food, appliances, cookware, and cook books is no easy challenge. To clear your space (and your mind) here are a few simple storage solutions that will ease working in your kitchen.

Optimizing cabinet storage is the first place to begin. There are several specialty organizers available for cabinets. A Lazy Susan, for example, gives you easy access to items in corner spaces. Also, step shelving in cabinets will help organize canned goods, different sized dishes, and small appliances. And wire baskets on slides will make your deep cabinets easily accessible.

Get the most of your kitchen walls. In addition to displaying artwork, the kitchen walls are a great way to add storage space.  You can hang wire baskets from the ceiling to store fresh produce, or a pot rack to hold pots lids. IKEA has a great selection of wall organizers like a magnetic knife rack, paper towel holder, spice rack, and more!
