Budget Friendly Simple DIY Fall Decorating Ideas

Last year for Fall, we put together our first dining room table setting with some DIY place cards. By simply using some plywood, paper, and chalkboard labels, we created hanging plaques for our chairs, instead of place cards that go straight on the table. This worked perfectly for us, because we were already limited on table space for food and dishes.

Decorating for different holidays can be really fun, but a little tough on the pocketbook. So I’ve searched the internet to find some great DIY decorating ideas for fall, that will have a big impact, with little cost to you!

Repurposed Vases

One of the best ways to bring a natural element into any decorated space, is through flowers or greenery. Repurposing old or used regular glass flower vases is a great way to get a new look for pennies on the dollar. Materials like raffia, rope and paint are just a few ways to rejuvenate and add character, to a once boring, simple vase.

Painted Pumpkins

Almost all of us live in a place where we can purchase those plastic decorative pumpkins from the craft store in all different shapes and sizes, so why not gussy them up a bit? With regular craft paint and a few tape width variations, you can come up with some pretty awesome designs to help customize your festive space.

Unusually Beautiful Wreaths

From afar these wreaths look like expensive store-bought door decor, but close up, you realize that each are made with unusual, inexpensive items that you can quickly purchase at your local craft store, grocery store or even gather from your own yard! From thumb tacks and Lima beans, to spray painted acorns and even plastic spoons, the sky’s the limit when coming up with fun new ways to create fabulous fall wreaths.

Do any of these inexpensive DIY fall decorating ideas have you looking around your wondering if there are any ways for you to turn your already purchased decor into something new, for this coming fall season? Decorating is fun and rewarding, but it’s even better when you can save yourself some money along the way! Don’t be afraid to get creative and try something new. You might be surprised by what you can come up with, if you just think outside the box.
