With Election Day coming up next week, Homes.com has selected three man caves fit for a president. Using Homes.com’s list of most luxurious homes for sale in Washington, D.C., we’ve selected homes with ample space for social business gatherings and highlighted features that we believe any politician would appreciate in a man cave to match with their lifestyle.
We will be stopping by Earleville, MD approximately two hours from D.C., then Baltimore, MD only one hour away, and reaching our final destination right in Washington D.C.
#1st Man Cave: Earleville, MD
Cost: $34.5 million
Located in Maryland, this 38,000 sq.ft. Earleville home is settled right beside the waterfront, two hours away from D.C.. There are 8BR/9BA/3-1/2 BA in this wonderful 557 acre estate. Some of the amenities include:
- Guest House: Privacy for everyone including family, friends, & guests.
- Helipad: It’s basically a landing pad for helicopters, perfect for traveling to campaigns or meetings in other states– Goodbye traffic!
- Stables: Horses will also love the available running space.
- Dock: Fishing & Boating conveniently located in the backyard.
- 5+ Car Garage
- Private Elevator
The back of the house is groomed, ready for entertaining, and a worry-free environment from neighbors overhearing or eavesdropping in on conversations. (Doesn’t this photo look like it would belong in a scene from the movie Pride & Prejudice)?
Another fantastic feature is the conference/meeting room inside this house, which could seat 30+ people. This is wonderful news to a man of politics, who has a plenty to say and discuss. Every political man cave should have one of these rooms!
Only having a few people over? That’s no problem, because there are plenty of rooms for private conversation such as the library.
It’s much more personal and cozy for the 1-on-1 talks. The tufted leather burgundy chairs and natural wooden walls give this library room a luxurious and professional touch.
Although this Earlville, MD home is located two hours away, it is accessible via helicopter and ideal for people who enjoy having more space and privacy.
#2nd Man Cave: Baltimore, MD
Cost: $8.5 million
This newly built Baltimore home is a double townhome with 5 floors, 6 BR/ 7 BA/ 3-1/2 BA, & 9,069 sq.ft of generous space. Equipped with state of the art systems and smart home technology, security is not an issue here. It was built in 2007, with prime location right on the Harbor and an hour away from D.C.. Other amenities include:
- Sauna [Photo below]
- Home Theater [Photo below]
- Gourmet Kitchen: It may be difficult to believe, but there are men out there that can cook. (Cleaning? I’m not so sure).
- Roof Deck w/Spa: Yes, please.
- 4-Car Garage Parking
- 5-Stop Elevator
Featured in this waterfront Maryland home is a sauna room. Saunas are a great place to socialize, cleanse the body, relax and relieve stress and muscle tension. Politics can be frustrating and stressful, so saunas are a huge plus in my book for political man caves.
This walk-in-closet is great, the dark chocolate colored wood with milk coffee walls give this closet a lot of depth and executive-flair. You can never have enough black suit jackets in the political profession. (Don’t forget the rest of the outfit though)! There is plenty of space and storage for all the suits, ties, shoes, dress shirts, and pants in this superb political man cave closet.
A private home theater is a perfect man cave feature. The tiered leather seating, large speakers, and big screen in this home theater has all the makings for the perfect caucus room – for movies!
If being close to people and near big cities and activity are on your criteria list of home necessities, house hunting in Baltimore, MD is highly recommended.
#3rd Man Cave: Washington, DC
Cost: $10.9 million
Conveniently located in our nation’s capital, the commute from this historical 12,000 sq.ft. Washington D.C. home is much shorter in comparison to the two Maryland homes. This home was built in 1911 and has 4 floors with 8 BR/9BA/2-1/2 BA. Highlighted amenities are:
- Home Theater
- Staff Quarters: Available for live-in staff
- In-Home Fitness Center: We need our leaders staying healthy!
- Eco-Friendly: Save costs in the long run. Want to learn more about going green? Visit the Green Living section of our blog.

- Security: A necessity for political leaders
Not very “man cave-like”, I know, but I couldn’t resist because this is something you don’t see in D.C. everyday. Take a look at this perfect outdoor dining set-up; who wouldn’t enjoy having a nice social gathering out here?
The colors in this room are elegant. The cream chairs look so comfy and sturdy for longer discussions and meetings. They make the perfect accompaniment to the orange-tan and red hues. All that is missing is the pianist playing some Chopin in the background.
Do you like the chandeliers in this library? They are imported 19th century French lantern chandeliers. And the fireplace; it’s a 19th century French limestone fireplace. They are both very lovely additions to the library, don’t you think? The bookshelves surround all four walls of this room, meaning every book will have a home!
There is immense personality and history in this D.C. home. From the 18th and 19th century chandeliers, oak floor, and French terracotta tile, it’s an excellent reminder that each decision and policy makes history that will shape the future. This home in Washington, D.C. is a conversation starter with updated modern features and intact history that will be inherited by the lucky owner. Who would have known that this was an eco-friendly home as well?
Washington, D.C. is not the most budget-friendly place to live, but paying premium prices may be worth the extra money to have access to public transportation and avoid the traffic.
Now it’s time for you to cast your vote to which Homes.com political man cave you liked best and why it is your favorite. If you would like to find out more about luxury homes, please check out our VIP Living Blog for more related articles!
