It’s no surprise that New York, Los Angeles, Dallas and Chicago comprise our top four markets since they are the four largest populated markets in the US. New York isn’t new to making Homes.com lists; it was our #1 city to celebrate the holiday season in 2012 and is known for its valuable real estate. Over a quarter of the traffic to Homes.com from people residing in the New York market is through mobile. Looks like people are house hunting while riding the subway!
Chicago is another popular city on Homes.com. It was recently featured in our Three Cities that are Going Green infographic. Whether people are looking to relocate to Chicago for the big city life or green living options, one thing remains true they’re searching for their new home on their mobile device. Over 40% of the visits to Homes.com from people in Chicago were visiting from their mobile phone.
With all the hoopla surrounding which mobile devices are more superior, it’s interesting to note that of the visits to the Homes.com mobile site 49.49% were from Apple devices and 47.73% were from Android devices in 2012. Looks like the great debate will continue and for now, at least, Homes.com visitors will remain almost equally divided. Which device do you prefer?
