Fresh From The Garden! {Recipes}

I love to garden not only because of feeling one with nature as I dig in the dirt, but also because I love feeding my family fresh produce. I know where it came from and that it is organic. No matter how many years we have had a garden, my kids get a kick out of eating the things they helped grow. If you don’t have a garden, you can visit farmer’s markets and buy locally grown fruits and veggies. They are just as fresh and I love the idea of supporting local farmers.

I am going to share some of my favorite recipes that can be made with ingredients fresh from the garden!

Shaved Melon Cherry Arugula Salad

Doesn’t this salad look so refreshing? Naomi from Bakers Royal came up with this summery salad that is sure to be a crowd pleaser at your next get together.

Burger and {PURPLE} Fries!

My kids have never been big fans of potatoes so one year I decided to plant blue potatoes. I ordered the seed potatoes online. They were a big hit! We made homemade fries baked in the oven. I also made potato salad one year with red and blue potatoes for a 4th of July picnic. They taste the same as a regular potato and are just as good.

Brown Butter Spaghetti with Baby Kale and Roasted Butternut Squash

I have not tried this yet, but I know I am going to LOVE it. As soon as my butternut squash is ready to pick next month I am making this for my family. Mmmmmm! Maryanne from The Little Epicurean came up with this yummy recipe.

Artichoke Chicken and Spinach Lasagna

You had me at ‘artichoke’… I have 15 artichoke plants in my garden for a reason. I LOVE them! And I add them to all sorts of dishes. This recipe from Reeni at Cinnamon Spice and Everything Nice is a favorite. And how cute is that baking dish?

Potato Corn Zucchini Chowder

It is almost fall and one of the best parts of the cooler days of autumn are all the soups we have for dinner. They are comfort foods I can’t seem to get enough of. This chowder from Chung-Ah Rhee who blogs at Damn Delicious looks AMAZING! Plus it is a good way to get rid of all that extra zucchini.

Artichoke Bruschetta

And here we are again with another artichoke recipe! I love this one I came up with because most of the ingredients come straight from my garden. It is easy and is great for dinner parties. If you have not tried artichokes, you must!
