April has been an exciting month for celebrity real estate! Spring is in the air, and so is buying, selling and, in this case, flipping some serious VIP real estate. From Beverly Hills to the Upper East side, from the beach to the hills, everyone is talking about who’s buying what mansion and who’s selling what penthouse.
In the Sunshine State, a very well-known baseball player has sold his luxurious beach view condo. Can you guess who? It’s A. Rod! Alex Rodriguez, though not with the New York Yankees this year, continues to find ways to bring in the big bucks. He seems to be trying his hand in real estate, as he recently flipped a luxury Miami Beach condo for over two and a half million dollars. He paid a little over two million for the property last year. The Mei Condominiums condo is 1,725 square feet, has hardwood floors, a beautiful contemporary kitchen, and a long patio area that faces the water. The interior is whitewashed to give it a very modern look, and boasts all of the state-of-the-art technology.
Additionally, the Mei Condominiums have an Asian-inspired private spa and fitness center. From pretty much anywhere within the condo, there is a panoramic view of not only Miami Beach, but of the pristine Biscayne Bay. Rodriguez was represented by his sister, Sotheby’s International REALTOR®, Arlene Susy Dunand, who says her brother is now on the search for something a bit bigger on the beach.
