I love fall. It is my most favorite time of the year! There’s cooler air, football games and pumpkins! What is not to love?

In the décor world there are trends that come and go, but some trends tend to stick around a while. One of the biggest trends in fall decorating this year is bringing the outdoors in. Think of greenery and textures. This is one of those classic trends that you can never go wrong with.

I have an easy and inexpensive project to share with you that can get you started with your classic fall décor today.

I purchased a very inexpensive glass vase from Wal-Mart that only cost 97 cents. I already had the twine and sheet moss but you can also pick that up at Wal-Mart as well. The stems and greenery are cut straight from my yard.

I started with wrapping the twine around the glass vase. This is very simple to do. Start by wrapping the twine around the vase two times. Then, tie off that end to secure the twine in place. Continue wrapping the rest of the twine until you have covered as much of the vase as you desire. I covered about two thirds of my vase. Once you get to a stopping point, cut your twine leaving a few extra inches. Secure it by tucking it in behind the other rows of twine or by tying it to the original knot.

After this was done I took a piece of the sheet moss with the green side facing down and laid it in the bottom of my vase. This is just for added texture. If you want to add a bouquet of real flowers from the market that will need water, you can take out the moss.

After I had the twine and moss in place, I went out into my yard and cut some greenery and picked up a few sticks. Fill the vase with as much as you like.

There you have it. A nice fall vase that is perfectly trendy.
