When it comes to Thanksgiving, there is no denying it’s all about the food! From mashed potatoes to pumpkin pie, the dishes don’t disappoint. I know we all have our family favorites that are must-haves on turkey day. So when I was thinking of a Thanksgiving recipe to share with you, I wanted to give you a recipe to enjoy during all that Thanksgiving cooking! We’re talking about the perfect Thanksgiving appetizer!

Crostinis are truly the perfect appetizer. They’re easy to have on hand, don’t require use of the oven (perfect, since it will be busy cooking the turkey), and keep hungry hands looking for a nibble out of the kitchen. Set these out on a platter while friends and family enjoy the Thanksgiving parade, football, and naptime, you might just find they disappear quickly!

I really love the combination of a strong port wine cheese spread with the touch of sweetness from the pomegranate arils. Truly though, the combinations are endless. Try it with goat cheese and top with a piece of sliced turkey to use up leftovers! However you enjoy these crostinis, it’s a delicious appetizer idea!

  1. Lay out crostini on a serving platter.
  2. Use a small spreading knife to spread on cheese to each crostini.
  3. Top each crostini with a baby arugula leaf.
  4. Open pomegranates carefully and scoop out arils. Add several arils on top of the arugula and cheese.
