The holidays are the busiest time of the year for everyone, but especially moms. The fact that we are the ones in charge of so much for our families, our homes, and our jobs, we may feel like the busiest person on the planet. That quite possibly may be true. Although I can’t make your holiday season less busy, I can offer you some tricks I use to survive it.

Be prepared!

Make a list of everything you will need to wrap gifts, and gather it all together.

Go ahead and purchase the items that you are missing. Everything from scissors, tape, pens, and tags will help. Keep it all together in one place. This will be such a huge time saver and help. You will only be stressed if you lay everything out to wrap gifts and then discover you don’t have something you need.

Do the same for your baking.

Most of us have certain recipes we make each year. Get to the grocery store now and buy everything you need to bake all of your favorites. When the time comes to start baking, you won’t be rushing by the store with the kids after work when everyone is tired and hungry. This will make baking those cookies much more fun if you are prepared and can enjoy the process.

My best tip for surviving the holidays is to…

take a couple of minutes for you!

I love Starbucks’ hot cocoa, but its not very convenient or cost effective to stop by every time I have the need for a warm drink. Did you know you can buy individual packets of Starbucks’ hot cocoa from Walmart? All flavors too! I’m a double chocolate lover. When you make your baking list for the grocery store, go ahead and add hot cocoa mix and marshmallows or whip cream topping. You will be glad you did!

These three tips will get you prepared for a joyous holiday season, and you will be able to survive anything when you are prepared and relaxed.
