Bark-N-Ride: Seattle Dog Uses Public Transit

Public transit is a way of life for 35 million Americans every weekday. But when you’re a dog, you’re typically at the mercy of the sidewalk or transportation from your owner – that is, unless you’re a well-mannered labrador named Eclipse. This Seattle dog takes traveling in to her own paws. When her owner takes too long, Eclipse rides the bus by herself to the dog park – and makes friends along the way.

Seattle is consistently named as a dog-friendly city, ranking in at #3 for Pawnation’s Top 10 US Cities for Dogs. According to Seattle Magazine, there are actually more dogs living within the city limits than there are children. Seattle boasts hundreds of dog-friendly restaurants and various attractions to enjoy with your canine pet, including a Sunday Ice Cream Cruise.

It’s also a great city for public transportation. Eclipse could have also traveled by train, monorail, ferry, streetcar, cruise ship, or even by air. In fact, Kenmore Air offers scenic flights over the city with your dog in the seat next to you or in your lap. As you can see, dogs have lots of transit options, as do the humans that live in Seattle.

Do you have any dogs stories from your city?
