Final Four Layer Dip

with-a-chip

Get it? Final Four? Four Layer Dip? It’s March Madness time, baby!

Once football season is over, basketball fans can start rejoicing because college hoops are in full force! From office brackets to the championship game, fans all over the country love rooting on their favorite teams during this time of year. Watching sports is no fun without snacks, and I’ve got a yummy dip that will be ready in time for tip-off!

My four layer dip consists of refried beans, sour cream, guacamole and salsa. Many other layers could be incorporated (i.e. cheese, tomatoes, peppers) but I left it at four layers so it could be a “FINAL FOUR Layer Dip!” to go along with the whole March Madness craze! Don’t worry, there’s enough flavor in this dip to make up for the other layers!

To make, start by mixing half a packet of taco seasoning with the refried beans and layer on the bottom of a pie plate or shallow clear dish. It’s preferable for the dish to be clear so you can see the layers, but it’s not a necessity. For quicker prep, use pre-prepared guacamole and salsa.

Spread on the sour cream next, followed by the guacamole. Feel free to season your guac with lime juice, salt and pepper. The top layer is fresh, finely diced restaurant style salsa. The juice from the salsa will seep into the other layers for a perfectly seasoned dip! If you have time, chill in the fridge for an hour or so to let the layers really solidify. Serve with sturdy tortilla chips. I hope your team wins!
