Strawberry and Mint Moscow Mule

Strawberry-moscow-Mule-pic2

One of my favorite warm-weather cocktails is the classic Moscow Mule. Lucky for me the Mule has been making a big comeback at bars and restaurants all over the country!

Traditionally made with non-alcoholic ginger beer and vodka, I’ve updated this refreshing drink by also including strawberry juice and muddled mint leaves. This cocktail takes on a beautiful red color and a sweet, fruity flavor that’s perfect for sipping on an outdoor patio in the glorious spring weather.

Strawberry and Mint Moscow Mule

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 3 mint leaves
  • 1 shot of vodka (1.5 oz)
  • 2 shots of non-alcoholic ginger beer (3 oz.)
  • Juice from 3 large strawberries
  • Healthy squeeze of lime
  • Ice

Instructions:

Muddle the mint leaves at the bottom of a cocktail glass by twisting the leaves into the glass with a spoon or muddler. You’ll know it’s muddled when you can smell the mint!

Add ice to the glass followed by a shot of vodka and the ginger beer.

Using a mesh sieve held over your glass or cocktail shaker, press the strawberries one by one against the mesh to extract the juice directly into the glass.

Squeeze a good amount of lime juice into the glass and give it a stir. Garnish with a strawberry, lime wedge and a fun straw. Enjoy with friends, preferably in the sunshine!

Moscow Mules are traditionally served in a cold copper mug, but serving the drink in a clear glass shows off the beautiful red color and bits of mint leaf.
