In support of the Inspiring Home Moments campaign Homes.com reached out to bloggers and asked them to share their home moments. These are Brandi’s home moments from Don’t Disturb This Groove blog.

After living in my house for over 5 years, my home has become the center of my relaxation and individuality. Whenever I come home from a long day of running errands, I can sit down and relax with a magazine and enjoy cup of coffee. If I am feeling inspired to create something, I can sit at my sewing machine and make something beautiful. My house exemplifies not only my personality, but my creativity and my favorite way to unwind.

My living room is my favorite place to unwind. I don’t know if it’s because of the yellow on the walls, the large window that brings in sunlight, or how soft my mother’s couch is, but I am most relaxed sitting down with a magazine and with my music playing softly in the background. When my week is so busy with my family and friends, it can be hard to find time for myself. By having a space made solely for relaxing, it makes it easier to de-stress. I took a lot of time perfecting the area by revitalizing my late mother’s couch, adding different textures and colors, and creating pieces to tie everything together.

Whenever I have spare time, I am creating. My favorite things to make are pillows because they are simple, easy to make, and easily customizable to fit my taste. In my living room, I made pillows out of dinner napkins to accessorize my couch. The patterns bring depth and luxury without breaking the bank and that’s why I like creating so much! Everything becomes more personal and homely when you make something with your own hands.

Wow, this is beautiful. I love the yellow on the walls and those pillows!? Gorgeous! You really know how to work with patterns and textures, whereas my husband can’t seem to understand that flannel and plaid DO NOT MIX! 🙂 Great job, Brandi; I hope to see more of your work soon.
She has a very homely feel to her work, I like how she works her colors.
I always look foward to Brandi’s work. She is a talented & creative individual.
Brandi, I would love to come home to your “unwinding space”! The beautiful pillows on the sofa makes you want to sink right in. I am sure your mom would be so proud of the updates. I make pillows myself but I have never tried napkins….I think I will make it my next project. Thanks for sharing and I hope you are blessed with more lovely creations.
The style in these photos is timeless. The feel is comfortable and the colors warm and inviting. I love her creativity.
Inspiring.
Brandi,
I just love your sense of style. The picture of your living room color, couch and pillows looks so relaxing. It could be a page right out of the Better Homes and Gardens magazine. I look forward to seeing more of your ideas.
