House Hunting on Your Mobile?

Homes.com made its first foray into mobile real estate marketing in March 2009, releasing a real estate search application for the iPhone. It estimated over 2.2 million page views via the iPhone app in January 2010 alone! Home buyers also accessed more than 3.8 million mobile page views over the month.

The new search function, available on the iPhone or iPod Touch, as well as their application includes unique features not found in other mobile real estate applications such as the ability to quickly refine basic searches without starting over, and the homes.com “grid view” feature for map displays.

Other features include the ability to:

  • Instantly find nearby homes or rentals with the iPhone location finder
  • Drag or pinch the screen to zoom and navigate neighborhoods with Google Maps
  • Bookmark favorite homes.com properties
  • Easily share properties for sale or for rent with friends and family
  • Get fast and accurate local driving directions
  • Search by MLS number
  • Quickly connect with a homes.com agent with built-in contact tools

Homes.com Vice President and General Manager Jason Doyle was quoted as saying, “It offers a fast and flexible mobile real estate search experience for home buyers that we think is among the best available today.”

The free application can be downloaded from the iTunes Store by simply searching the keyword “Homes.com.”

With the competition heating up to create the most wanted mobile application, Homes.com has made a move with the release of a free application for the BlackBerry Storm. The BlackBerry Storm application allows users to search for properties near their current location as well as by zip code, city or MLS number. Navigation via Google Maps is also included along with options to bookmark and share properties.

All of these technological advancements just reaffirm Homes.com as the destination for house hunters on the go.
