Rachelle’s Home is a Place to Celebrate

In support of the Inspiring Home Moments campaign Homes.com reached out to bloggers and asked them to share their home moments. These are Rachelle’s home moments from Fingerprints on the Fridge.

I think when most people become sentimental about their homes they grew up in or homes they’re currently in even, it’s because of the memories they’ve made, the people who share that home with them and the moments that have happened in the house that make it a home. Unless you’re a Kardashian and get to enjoy many homes, just for the heck of it– don’t get me wrong I’m pretty sure I could adjust fairly quickly if someone said “Hey! Let me give you a beach house in the Keys, and while we’re at it– you want another one in Greece?” But, because that isn’t happening anytime soon I’ll stick with my tiny box of a 1200 square foot house, in our little neighborhood in our semi-little town. It’s good to us, it keeps us warm in the winter and has plenty of Popsicles and air conditioning to cool us off in the summer. It’s a place where we can celebrate the big to-us-things like birthdays and scary celebrations like kindergarten time!

It’s a place where we can feel free to create whether it be a colorful playroom that promises to help you be whoever you want to be that day– pirate? Got it! Princess, let’s do that too!

Or having an abundance of options to create on paper– markers at hand, crayons in every color you could imagine and plenty of scissors for good measure.

There are no rules or boundaries in our home that stop us from being able to create anyway or anywhere we want! It’s a beautiful thing when you know you can plop down in the living room and put together a flower box at 1:00 am, because creativity struck, and sometimes you just have to go with it.

Our home is definitely our haven, though she be small she is fierce. She helps us be the people we want to be, the people we need to be and encourages us just like she should.
