Looking for a fun DIY project to do with the kids this October? Hit the pumpkin patch, and try out some of these easy, no carve pumpkin ideas!
With my four-year-old daughter Kate as my sidekick, we picked out our perfect pumpkins, hit the craft store and went to work. The first one she wanted to tackle was her “kitty witch” pumpkin. Kate loves any excuse to grab a paint brush and craft paint, so we decided to paint the bottom half of this pumpkin. I taped off the top with painters tape to make a straight line, and then Kate painted the bottom with one coat of black paint and one coat of black glitter paint for a little extra sparkle.
Once the paint was dry, Kate added a foam kitty mask and toddler-sized witch hat, and our first pumpkin was complete!
Next, we went to work with foam stickers. Just peel off the paper backing and apply to clean, dry pumpkins – a simple DIY for kids of all ages.
I got in on the foam sticker fun with this little pumpkin decorated with candy corn stickers.
Next, Kate and I went to work on our eyeball pumpkin. We started with a clean, dry pumpkin, some quick drying craft glue, and a bowl full of googly eyeballs. Nothing says Halloween like a bowl full of eyeballs. We highly recommend getting your hands on some.
To make our eyeball pumpkin we simply put a dab of glue on the back of each eyeball, applied it to the pumpkin and held it there for a couple of seconds to set. This technique could easily be used to apply little gems and jewels as well!
